We are currently looking for an Assistant Buyer to work with our purchasing team in the San Rafael Warehouse. You will assist the team in all aspects of purchasing and inventory management. This is a terrific opportunity to learn purchasing, planning and retail finances.
Works with Buyer in product selection
Assist Buyer developing assortment plans versus previous years’ plans and/or competitors
Assist Buyer with ad proofing
Receives calls/request from vendors to resolve issues as needed
Creates and requests PO worksheets and sends to Director for approval
Reviews purchase orders created by data integrity to ensure accuracy and tracks purchase orders
Follows up with vendors on rush orders to get tracking or routing information
Collects samples from vendors for advertising & planogram sets
Generates & analyzes reporting as directed by Buyer/Director
Provides help with planograms and visual merchandise direction.
Partners with Buyer to ensure in-stock expectations.
Updates and maintains vendor plans by department
Creates replenishment assortment templates
Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent relevant experience.
2-3 years retail buying experience with an emphasis on sportswear.
Good computer skills.
Strong organizational, planning, analytical and communication skills.
Ability to answer and/or research questions in regards to vendors or merchandise.
Time/deadline management skills, attention to detail, and consistency are a must
A creative mindset, positive attitude, and ability to present new ideas and fresh perspectives constructively.
Knowledge of, or enthusiasm for, bicycles and the bicycle industry a huge plus.
